1. About BowserBuddy

BowserBuddy is a free fuel price comparison tool that displays live petrol, diesel, and gas prices from government data sources across Australia. The service is currently available for Queensland, New South Wales, ACT, and Tasmania, with more states planned.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using BowserBuddy, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

3. Price Data Accuracy

Fuel prices displayed on BowserBuddy are sourced from government-mandated fuel price reporting schemes. While we update prices frequently (every 15–30 minutes depending on state), we cannot guarantee that prices shown are current or accurate at the time you visit a station. Reasons prices may differ include:

• Delays between a station changing its price and reporting it to the government.
• Network or processing delays in our update cycle.
• Stations that have temporarily closed or run out of a particular fuel.

Always confirm the price at the bowser before filling up. BowserBuddy is a guide, not a guarantee.

4. Discount Estimates

BowserBuddy shows estimated loyalty discount prices (e.g. Everyday Rewards, Flybuys). These are estimates based on publicly known discount amounts and may not reflect your actual discount. Discounts may vary by location, promotion period, or loyalty tier. Some stations marked as participating may not honour discounts at all times.

5. "Worth the Drive" Calculations

The "Worth the Drive" feature estimates whether driving to a cheaper station would save you money. These calculations use estimated driving distances and your entered fuel consumption rate. Actual fuel costs, traffic conditions, and route distances may differ. The calculation is for guidance only.

6. Limitation of Liability

BowserBuddy is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by Australian law:

• We are not liable for any loss, damage, or expense arising from your use of or reliance on the service.
• We are not liable for decisions you make based on price data, discount estimates, or driving calculations.
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

7. Fair Use

BowserBuddy is intended for personal, non-commercial use by individual motorists. You may not:

• Scrape, harvest, or systematically download fuel price data from the service.
• Use automated tools (bots, scripts, crawlers) to access the service beyond normal browsing.
• Redistribute, resell, or republish fuel price data obtained from BowserBuddy.
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or other protective measures.

We reserve the right to block or restrict access for users who violate these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The BowserBuddy name, logo, and website design are our property. Fuel price data is sourced from government APIs and remains subject to the terms of those data providers. Brand names and logos displayed on the site belong to their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.

9. Third-Party Services

BowserBuddy relies on third-party services including MapTiler (map tiles and geocoding), OSRM (driving directions), MapLibre GL (map rendering), Vercel (hosting), and Sentry (error monitoring). Your use of the map is also subject to MapTiler's Terms of Service. Map data is provided by OpenStreetMap contributors under the ODbL licence. We are not responsible for the availability or conduct of third-party services.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of BowserBuddy after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
